About
The Wayland Community Pool, Inc. is a non-profit that was funded by generous donations from local businesses and individuals. The facility is located at 258 Old Connecticut Path, Wayland, MA. 01778. The air supported structure is removed for the summer months to provide open air swimming and is replaced in the fall to provide year-round use. The pool has ten lanes, two 1-meter diving boards and ranges in depth from four to twelve feet. We provide a wide variety of aquatic programming for all ages and levels available to residents and non-residents of the Town of Wayland.
History
Wayland has a long history of privately funded community pools. Our current pool sits on the site of the original Town Pool that was funded by generous donations and opened in the late 1960s. The pool had outlived its useful life (it was a 5 lane 25 yard indoor facility) and a group was formed in 2004 to plan for its replacement. These plans came to reality when the new community pool was opened in November 2010. The pool was funded by generous donations from local businesses and individuals as well as a loan from Middlesex Savings Bank. This loan is still outstanding and we are working hard to get it paid off. If you would like to make a donation to the pool we would very much appreciate it.
Donate
The Wayland Community Pool was built through generous donations from members of the community. We currently have a capital project underway to pay for a catwalk at the top of the arch to simplify (and reduce the cost) of taking the bubble down and putting it back up. We are in need of donations to fund this project. To donate on line click the donate button or make a check payable to Wayland Community Pool, Inc. and mail it to 195 Concord Road, Wayland, MA, 01778.Staff.
